Alpha Course

Over 8 million people have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. Share a meal in a relaxed, non-threatening setting while covering ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, it may include a day or weekend away.

It is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations.
Covers subjects such as: ‘Who is Jesus?’, ‘How can I be sure of my faith?’, ‘How do I pray and many others?’.

Alpha is coming to Knox

So what is Alpha? Alpha is a series of 10 interactive sessions that explores having a relationship with Jesus. Alpha gives people who do not go to church or believe in Jesus an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relevant, non-threatening and friendly environment. By openly exploring life’s big questions, we hope they will find meaning in Christ.

Who is Alpha for? Anyone who wants to find out more about beginning a relationship with Jesus – this might be you, your friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours – please pray for opportunities to invite people around you. Over the next few weeks as a church we will be planning, praying and inviting people to come to Alpha. There will be invitations to give out and more details soon.

When will Alpha be at Knox?  On Wednesday nights of Term 3 (July 26th to October 4th), starting off with an Alpha introduction dinner night on Saturday 26th July. You are very welcome to accompany the people you invite to this dinner, and to the rest of the Alpha course if you want to. Invitations are available in the Church foyer and Church office, please take as many as you need. Registrations can be returned to the office.  If you have any questions or would like to help with the next series of Alpha please get in touch with Jo Salisbury on office@knoxstc.org.nz
